Grandparent's Day lunches are this week!! Also, grandparents may purchase gift certificates for the upcoming book fair in October! They will be for sale before and after lunch. Our book fair is kind of a big deal!! Below you will also find the amended lunch schedules for this week. Monday: 4th Grade Grandparents at 12:00 p.m. 2nd grade will eat at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday: 3rd Grade Grandparents at 12:00 p.m. 2nd grade will eat at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday: 2nd grade grandparents at 12:00 p.m. Thursday: 1st Grade grandparents at 12:00 p.m. 2nd grade will eat at 10:55 a.m. Friday: Kindergarten grandparents at 12:00 p.m. 2nd grade will eat at 11:20 a.m.

Reminder: T-Shirt order forms are due Wed 9/5 for K-4 students. These shirts are worn on field trips and other special events. We need a form returned for every student. Additional forms are available in the office.

Seq. Robotics Mtg: Thurs., Aug. 30th at 5:30 in Seq. cafeteria, we will hold a robotics informational meeting. If your 3rd/4th grade child is interested in being apart of the Seq robotics team, you are encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there.

Parents-Sequoyah will begin using a new system called Peachjar to send home letters and information. The "September Dates to Remember" was sent out this morning via Peachjar. The BOGO Book Fair opens Monday, May 21st and ends Friday, May 25th after the End of Year Awards Assembly! Prevent the dreaded "reading summer slide" by purchasing books for your child to read over the summer break!

RSD will dismiss two hours early on Thursday, May 17 for the Employee Recognition Ceremony. The last day of the school year is Tuesday, May 29, and the district will dismiss one hour early.

Seq. will celebrate our 50th year on May 24th! We are offering a special t-shirt to recognize this event. Order forms are due Friday, April 27th. If you have questions, please call the office.

Parents of 3rd graders please take note: Next week students in grades 3-4 will be taking the ACT Aspire tests Monday-Friday. 3rd graders will be coming in from their morning recess early. If your child will be eating breakfast at school, they must arrive by 7:40. Students will come into the building around 7:45 and breakfast will be served then.

Due to poor weather conditions expected on Friday, Apr. 13th, the Recess Rockers final mile has been cancelled. It has bee rescheduled for Tues., Apr. 17th at 1:30 p.m. We welcome you to come cheer on our runners!

Russellville School District is now accepting referrals for student placement in the Gifted and Talented (G/T) Program for the 2018-2019 school year. The G/T program is designed to serve high potential/high performing students who demonstrate above average intellectual ability, high task commitment, and above average creativity. If you have a 2nd-11th-grade student you feel should be considered for placement in this program, you may pick up a referral form from any Russellville elementary school office or the GT/AP Office at Russellville High School. The completed form must be returned to your child's school by Friday, April 13, 2018. Russellville School District will host a Student Art Exhibition featuring artwork from 25 students in grades kindergarten-5th from each RSD elementary school. The Exhibition will take place Sunday, April 8, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. at The Center for the Arts. The Student Art Exhibition will showcase the strongest fine art pieces from each school and students will be presented with award certificates after the show. Parents and community members can view the Exhibition until April 12, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Center for the Arts.

RSD Announces Kindergarten Registration for 2018-19 School Year RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (April 2, 2018) -- Russellville School District will hold kindergarten registration on April 16-17, 2018, from 6-7 p.m. Registration for Crawford, Dwight, and Sequoyah elementary schools will be on April 16, and registration for Center Valley, London, and Oakland Heights elementary schools will be on April 17. State law requires children be five years of age on or before August 1, 2018, to enroll in kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year. Children should be registered in the attendance zone in which they live and should bring the following information to registration: an official copy of child’s birth certificate; guardianship papers, if you have been court-appointed as a legal guardian; immunization record; record of current physical examination by physician (children are required to have a physical exam before entering school); Social Security card; and ARKids First/Medicaid card (if applicable). Congratulations to Sequoyah's Teacher of the Year Denise Weidower! Mrs. Wiedower is our fantastic science teacher. She goes above and beyond every day for students and teachers!! Thank you Mrs. Wiedower for all you do!

In an effort to make strategic, data-driven decisions, Russellville School District has partnered with Hanover Research to conduct research projects for our district for one year. The 2018 School Climate Survey is the first survey Hanover will be conducting for our district. The district is requesting participation from parents and community members in this 10-minute anonymous survey. The results of the survey will be used to guide our improvement planning process, and we need your participation in our improvement endeavors. The survey link will be available via this link: https://hanoverresearch.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_40zEfTzt8VSGurP and on the RSD Facebook page from March 28th-April 11th. Parents will also be receiving a letter with the web link and a QR code this week. Thank you very much for your continued support of the Russellville School District. Parents, don't forget to turn in your Square 1 Art fundraiser forms! We have extended the deadline for orders until Friday, March 30th!!! You can order online or by bringing your form to school. Online orders can be ordered at www.square1art.com.

We have many items in our lost and found. If your child is missing items, please come in to the building to look through them. All items unclaimed by Friday, March 16th will be donated.

Yearbook orders are due Friday, March 9th! Yearbooks are a wonderful way to preserve the memories of those special elementary school days!

All RSD schools will dismiss 90 minutes early Monday, February 19th. Late bus riders, car riders, and walkers will be dismissed at 1:40. Early bus riders, Boys & Girls Club, and daycare van riders will be dismissed shortly before 1:40.
